Simple Setup Trick To Stop The Arms Collapsing
Jan 10, 2022
There’s a lot of discussion on how to hold the golf club, how to position the club within the fingers of your hands, and the orientation of where your hands should be on the golf club.
However, one of the most overlooked components of how to hold the golf club is the position of your arms relative to your wrist.
Here’s a great test you can do to ensure that you’re orientating your hands and arms correctly on the golf club:
- Start by lifting your arms above your chest, laying them on top, and then having your elbow out.
- From here, make sure that your palms are also going to be up; this would mean that your forearms, your hands, and your wrists are all rotating in the same direction.
- In the golf swing, you need your palms to be facing more towards the ground as your elbow pits are facing slightly inwards, relative to straight out.
- In the standing position, your palms and your elbows have to be out and as you turn your hands in from this position, you would then put your hands on the golf club.
