Change Your Stance For Better Golf
Dec 16, 2021
Throughout history, there have had many different types of what we would call swing DNA’s; players have had narrow stances and won while major championships players have had wide stances toes that are flared out or flared in and everything in between.
Implementing a little bit of toe flare in your golf swing can really improve the quality of your ball striking and the consistency in which you swing.
- If you have your toes straight on, as you make a golf swing they may limit how much rotation you’re able to create through the hips.
- To stay relatively balanced throughout the motion you need to have your toes turned in, so it’s easy for you to shift laterally off the ball and then also slide it in towards the ball.
- Try to have about 15 degrees of flair with my right foot and anywhere up to 30 even not more with my left foot and you can see from this position here that puts my kneecaps in an outward-facing position. Then, as you swing the golf club back and then down towards the golf ball that helps you stay more centred as you make your backswing.
