Easiest Way To Play Bunker Shots
In the video below, I will demonstrate how an in-swing thought can change your bunker game.
One thing I often see with a lot of recreational players’ bunker play is when they get into the sand, their leading edge or the front side of the golf club interacts with the sand too much. This means that the golf club essentially acts like a shovel; it digs far too much down into the ground and robs the player of speed and predictability over their distance control.
Hence, in the bunker play, we don’t want to use the leading edge. We actually want to use the back end of the golf club. The bounce of the golf club is going to help us get the golf club gliding through the ground rather than digging into it.
To demonstrate this, I’m going to show you (in the video below) two swings which are exactly the same, however in one I’m going to have a closed clubface and in the other, I’m going to have an open club face. Watch closely to spot the difference.
