Get Rid Of Your Chicken Wing With This Quick Fix
Mar 21, 2022
In this article, I’m going to show you how to get rid of the dreaded chicken wing look. It mainly consists of when we’re getting bunched up and the arms are folding in close to the body, this is what’s commonly referred to as the chicken wing.
If this is something you struggle with, follow the below drill:
- In the setup position, create the structure you want to maintain through the shot.
- In the address position, take pictures to know how you position your arms. If your lead arm is towards the target and the back arm away from the target, this would encourage the handle to move back and the arms to almost be separated at address.
- Next, rotate the upper part of your arms open so your elbows are facing towards the camera. From this position, it’s a lot easier to create this left arm and club shaft alignment.
- Take your normal grip and from this position, just make some follow-through positions where you’re maintaining the structure of your arms and you feel like your chest is getting as tall as possible towards the target.
By just doing this little follow-through drill, without any backswing, you will ingrain the feel of what it would be like to have your hips tucked in towards the target and the club further away from your body.
