Golf: How To Create Effortless Power
Dec 11, 2021
To add in some effortless power, you have to upgrade your ball striking ability. Sometimes the biggest changes can be made through a simple shift in concept meaning what we think about can encourage our body to organize itself in such a way to produce a desired result.
Very commonly we see players get to the top of the swing and make an aggressive move towards the ball, and when doing so they are spending a lot of energy at the top of the swing. The club head tends to move faster than the handle and it creates a scooping motion at impact. Essentially the golf swing moves from a wide to a narrow position through the golf ball.
If this sounds like you,
- I want you to consider making some practice swings while thinking about the fastest part of the golf swing. I want that fastest part of the golf swing to be anywhere from the ball out towards the target. When you do so, it’ll get the golf club moving from a narrow to a wide position, causing you to create the greatest amount of club head speed being applied at the moment of impact.
- When you make some practice swings, try a narrow to wide swing feeling like you’re creating the most amount of speed pass the ball.
- Then, when you step into the ball simply recreate that same feeling and you’ll be surprised when you execute it how effortless that ball seems to pop off the face so if you’re struggling with distance and the golf swing feels like a bit of an effort try this out, I’m sure it will help.
