Golf: How To Hit High & Low Bunker Shots

To upgrade your short game around the greens, you need to learn how to master the two main types of shots: High and Low Bunker Shots.

For the Low Bunker Shot:

  1. Start with a wide stance ball position forward and a lot of flex and pressure on this lead leg the clubface is going to be open and the end of the club pointing at the belt buckle now from here.
  2. The key is to fold your arms in the backswing, keeping the end of the club close to your body.
  3. The same goes for the follow through- once again folding the arms and keeping the end of the club close to the body.
  4. When you do the above, it’s going to get the head of the club working underneath the handle. Then you can add some speed add some loft the ball pop up high and stop in a shorter amount of time.

For the High Bunker Shot:

  1. You can afford to have a little less loft but when you play this one, you need to have a wider arc.
  2. You need to feel like that the handle is moving further away from your body in the backswing.
  3. It needs to move further away in the follow-through and when you do this it’s going to collect a lot more sand the ball’s going to launch lower and then roll out to a back pin.
