How To Get More Rotation At Impact

Using three alignment sticks, I’m going to show you how to improve the quality of the rotation of your lower body as your golf club is approaching the golf ball.

This is going to really help you if you struggle with poor ball-striking. It will effectively upgrade the quality of your shots.

Here is the drill to improve the quality of your rotation of your lower body:

  1. Starting from the down the line view, take a yellow alignment stick, just about half a rod, and stick it through your belt loops. You will be using it as a reference for your hip rotation in the downswing.
  2. Then, set up such that you’ve got an orange alignment rod down on the ground. This would be indicative of your target line and also your zero line for your hip rotation.
  3. As you set up to the golf ball, you should be able to see that the yellow stick and the orange stick are matching up to each other.
  4. Start off by making some practice swings, while trying to match the visual and the feeling of getting the wide alignment rod and the yellow rod matching up at the moment as the Club strikes the golf ball.
  5. This is a great little exercise for you to practice, even if you’re unsure whether you’re rotating enough.
