How To Grip The Golf Club For More Speed

Where we position the golf club in our hands has a direct correlation with how many hinges we can create in our wrists, therefore affecting how much speed we can create in the golf swing.

I’m going to give you a drill in which you’re going to be able to line up the base of the pinky finger and the first knuckle of the index up with each other, so it’s more diagonal.

  1. Stand up dead straight looking down towards the target.
  2. From here, lock your left arm out and place it back behind your body.
  3. Then wrap our hand on top and then bang it up and down just as you would a hammer.
  4. When you think about this hammer analogy, you certainly wouldn’t be holding a hammer underneath. Instead, you will just create a wrist hinge to allow the hand to work effectively with a hammer.
