Junior Performance Training: Putting
In the video below you will see Chris do a combination of a start line drill and a green reading challenge.
What he needs to do is initially hole a 1 meter putt through a gate in which two tees are set out about a foot in front of his golf ball. If he’s successful at doing that he knows that his putter face is starting on line with his intended target from there he would then move on to a 1 meter 2% gradient right-to-left breaking putt where he would then have to place a tee where his intended start line is.
I would check that. Then he would go ahead and successfully execute.
Once he’s done that he would go back to the block practice station, hold it through the start line date and then finally move on to a two meter putt, in which it was on the same gradient but he would have to set out a new start line.
I would see if he was able to do that successfully and then he would go ahead and execute that putt to complete this challenge. You simply just need to hole four putts in a row but it’s a great way to train and improve your start line control and also your green reading skills.
