Make Swing Changes Fast

In this article, I’m going to be showing you how to implement swing changes quickly and embed them into your subconscious golf swing mechanism.

Over your years of coaching, I’ve seen many players struggle to implement newfound knowledge to improve their golf game. They either can’t get it to gel or really fit into what they’re doing and therefore, get a little disheartened. This often leads them to stop trying to improve their technique or their game.

However, in golf, the only time you go backward is when you stop. So effectively what we want to do here is we want to make sure that you’ve got some strategies under your belt so you can implement what you learn.

  1. First of all, get a smaller bucket rather than a large bucket. Simply put, spend more time focusing because you know you’ve got fewer balls. If you keep hitting shot after shot after shot, fatigue is going to set in and you’re not going to get any better. This is a neat strategy straight off the bat to improve the quality of practice.
  2. Next, use checkpoints, or positions in which you know that if you were to look at yourself in the mirror, you would have achieved a specific outcome, presumably one that your coach was looking for in your practice session.
  3. Then, make some rehearsal swings focusing on upper body movement. Have a couple of practice swings that look like a slow and intentional backswing with little follow-through.

If you utilize these little strategies, you’re sure to see a remarkable difference in your ability to change your golf swing for the better.
