The Best Golf Short Game Drill For Pure Contact

This post is all about developing what’s called the arc height of your pitching. If you can learn to ingrain this skill, it’s really going to upgrade the quality of your shots around the greens and help you shoot lower scores.

So, first, you would need a high arc to the golf swing, meaning that as the club is descending down to the golf ball, it never actually interacts too much with the turf. That may be something similar with a putt or a fairway bunker shot, in that you don’t want the club descending too steeply into the ground. The opposite would be a greenside bunker shot when you’re around the green, you want the club digging down into the ground.

So when you do that, you set it up in such a way to promote it, you have a flex stance, a low body and you’re really trying to force and take a lot of sand as a result. You can use this little concept here to improve the shots around the green.
