The Perfect Golf Alignment Routine
One of the most common issues that I see from day to day is a poor golf alignment routine. When players come for a golf lesson and they’re struggling with their direction, a lot of the time, it is simply due to the way that they approach the ball in their golf alignment routine.
Hence, in today’s lesson, I’m going to give you a simple little tactic that you can use to ensure that you’re giving yourself the best chance of getting that ball started on your intended line!
Here’s a quick summary of the absolute MUSTS for aligning your club correctly with your intended target. Get studying before your next round:
- Stand directly behind the golf ball and draw a visual line from your target back to the ball.
- Next, pick a specific, small intermediate target about 6 inches in front of your ball on this line.
- Then, whilst keeping your body open to the target, line up the clubface first.
- Tilt your head on its axis and whilst looking at the target, set your body and get comfortable by moving your feet and pumping your arms to relax.
- Finally, pull the trigger!
