The Ultimate Backswing Drill

The Ultimate Backswing Drill

Here is a great dry drill to ensure that you’re not going to hit a golf ball without really knowing what you’re doing. This can really improve the quality of your motion as well as get you the feeling of tilting and extending to the top of your golf swing. It will effectively upgrade the quality of your ball striking.

You can practice this drill at home in a simple and effective manner and it’s one that I give it to a lot of students to improve the quality of their backswing.

Here it is:

1. Hold a golf club out in front of you in your golf posture.

2. Place your arms on top of your chest and have your hands about a shoulder-width apart with your thumbs pointing in opposite directions.

3. Your arms will be slightly separated with your upper arms sitting on your chest.

4. Have a slight amount of flex in your arms.

5. As you make the backswing motion, your objective is to not feel like you’re losing the structure of your arms.

6. Keep a slight amount of flex in your golf posture and make a backswing by moving your body in such a manner that you can see the end of the golf club still pointing at the line of the ball.
